Spring Semester Essentials:

Hello my beautiful blog buddies, if you did not notice already, my humble blog had a bit of a makeover. Although my blog is just a baby, I am constantly thinking about ways to improve it in the future. One of my goals for my blog is to separate my posts into more serious musings and informal lifestyle posts. That way I can still occasionally rant and rave for several pages on a given topic, but also post small lifestyle posts such as this one, when inspiration hits me.

In today’s post I want to share  four of my ride or die college favorites that help me power through my Spring college semester both physically and mentally. Some people find these types of posts silly and useless, but as an avid blog reader myself, I absolutely adore when people discuss a few of their monthly/yearly favorites because their suggestions always expose me to new and exciting products or places. So fingers crossed if you are still reading this, then you too, find it exciting to learn about other people’s silly, but essential favorites.  

Let’s begin…

1.)  A fun planner. I know, I know… A planner for a college student, how groundbreaking. And while it is true that a planner itself is not one of my favorites this semester, a fun, brightly colored and artistic planner that represents my personality however, is most definitely a necessity for my college semester. I am without a doubt an anxious planner, meaning that it is not rare to find me running to my calendar to precisely plan my every second during finals weekend. Personally there is just something surprisingly comforting about taking time to plan out my day, homework, and engagements on GOOD OLD FASHIONED, pen and paper. And because I have discovered that I am much more likely to consistently make us of my planner if its design makes me excited, investing in a fun planner is definitely one of my current semester essentials. 

2.)  Protein Bars. So many people underestimate how much protein they need in a day. But unfortunately getting enough protein can be difficult when you are in college because for a constantly on the go college student like myself, a chicken salad or egg white sandwich is not the easiest thing to bring to class. But luckily I have found that protein bars, specifically Pure Protein and Quest bars, are not only cheap and easy, but also seriously yummy/taste like a chocolate bar. Plus as an added bonus, Amazon Prime has incredible deals on protein bars, so say hello to saving money and hacking my way into eating more protein and staying energized this semester.

3.)  Nike Free Runs.  Essentially my Nike Free Runs are slippers that are acceptable to wear in public. Despite their unfortunately high price, Nike Free Runs are without a doubt worth their investment, especially if you are a college student who loves to be comfy and cute. Plus as an added bonus, wearing Nike Free Runs can either remind you to go to the gym and get those endorphins going, or at the least, they can help convince people that you’re active when you’re really not. 

4.)  Pantagonia Jackets: The Spring semester is such a funky weather roller coaster ride in California. For example, when I leave for my 8am class for example, I am blowing my VW heat and gripping my Green Tea, okay maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but it seriously feels cold. But oddly enough, by the time I leave my second class at 12pm, the sun is almost always blazing. And because of California's tendency to go through weather mood swings throughout the day, my Pantagonia jacket has become my God-sent this semester. Pantagonia jackets, especially the one pictured below, are incredible for the Spring because not only do they have more of a sunshine vibe so to speak, but they are also light-weight enough to keep you comfortably warm, but not hot, throughout the whole day.
